Birth registration awareness & community dialogue

Awareness raising, community dialogues and health-facility sensitisation across Bulawayo, Bubi and Umguza Districts — focused on the right to a birth certificate.

  • Awareness raising in Phelandaba, Bulawayo. Trinity partnered with other stakeholders to disseminate information on the importance of birth certificates and the dangers of being undocumented.
  • Community dialogue at Umguza Ward 13, addressing misconceptions and religious beliefs around birth registration — including communities where home births are still common.
  • Community dialogue at Famona, Bubi District. Communities highlighted the challenges they encounter when attaining birth certificates.
  • Sensitisation at Inyathi Rural waiting shelter, encouraging pregnant mothers to register their children soon after birth to promote early birth registration.
